17 July 2006
It's been a few weeks since the last newsletter and we wanted to bring you up to date on all that has been happening at Jeteye.
What's new?
Jeteye releases Plug-ins for Yahoo! Messenger 8.0
Yahoo! has a new version of their insanely popular instant-messenger client, and Jeteye has released two new plug-ins that bring Jeteye right into your IM world.
Jeteye's Contact List Plug-in
This plug-in appears right below your contact list and let's you create Jeteye Jetpaks right from Yahoo! Messenger. You can drag and drop content from anywhere and save it in a Jetpak. Browse and view your own Jetpaks or popular Jetpaks in Yahoo Messenger!
Jeteye's Conversation Plug-in
Now you can collaborate on Jetpaks in real-time with your Yahoo! Messenger contact list. Drag and drop links and images into a Jetpak and your contacts will see the changes immediately. Give them permission and they can make changes too!
Get them here!Firefox Extension Improvements
The Firefox extension keeps getting better and better. In fact, we have moved the version number all the way to 1.0 (and a little beyond)!
The changes are too numerous to list, but among the big ones:
- 'Remember Me' now works on OS X
- There is now a preference to make your new Jetpaks private or public.
- The extension uses the modification date instead of the creation date for sorting.
- You can now operate the extension across multiple windows and it inherits the state of the last window.
- Auto-titling Jetpaks - instead of popping up a window asking for a Jetpak title, there is a preference which will automatically title a Jetpak with the current date and time. Of course you can always change the title whenever you want.
- Our logo in the status bar has been reduced to our logo mark, so there is more room for all the extensions that use this space.

Jeteye Around the Web
There have been more cool mentions of Jeteye around the Web. The best was this article on gadgetell.com which compares Jeteye to other similar services.

Remix to Win contest
Time is running out! The contest will close on July 14, 2006, so you still have time to enter and win an Xbox 360. So far we've seen many great Jetpaks and want to thank everyone who entered as well as congratulate all our winners!
We will include the names of the winners in the next newsletter.
Visit the contest page for more details.
Jetpaks we like
Each issue we will feature recent Jetpaks that we think demonstrate the power and flexibility of the Jeteye system and why we like them.
What it is: No it's not technical. This Jetpak concerns itself with the architecture of different Apple stores around the world.
Why we like it: It shows how Apple works hard to extend its design aesthetic to its retail presence, something you wouldn't normally think about when you're buying their technology.
What it is: A CB7 is a fourth generation Honda Accord which was manufactured from 1990-1993. This Jetpak covers various readers cars from the CB7 Tuner Forums.
Why we like it: It's hard on a forum to see in one place specific photos submitted by different users. With a Jetpak it's easy to organize a forum site in different and unique ways.
