Personal Comments
Another Ivy League... one which many label "the easiest Ivy to get in... the hardest to get out." There's a lot of special study options, including cooperative (work-study) programs in computer science and engineering. The food, I heard, is great (from the Hotel Administration students), but the weather might take some getting used to if you've lived in California all your life.

School Statement
An institution founded so that "any person can find instruction in any
study, " Cornell-dubbed the first American university-continues to push
the limits of this extraordinary idea. Renowned for its distinctive mix
of eminent scholarship, academic rigor and commitment to public
service, it attracts 20, 000 students from every state in the Union and
over 120 countries. They learn from a world-class faculty teaching more
than 4, 000 courses and participate in cutting-edge research in 11
undergraduate, graduate and professional schools on the uniquely
beautiful Ithaca campus. The breadth of study, ranging from legendary
programs in the humanities to world-class interdisciplinary research
centers in nanotechnology, biotechnology, supercomputing and genomics,
sets Cornell apart from its Ivy League peers. Cornell also boasts the
nation's first colleges devoted to hotel administration, industrial and
labor relations, and veterinary medicine. From campuses in New York
City and Qatar, as well as Ithaca, President Jeffrey Lehman is
expanding Cornell's pioneering vision, establishing the true
transnational university of the future.
