Habitat and Trail San Franxisco Sep 22 9-12

Global Volunteer Days: Habitat Restoration and Trail Maintenance
22-SEP-2007 09:00 to 12:00
San Francisco, CA United States

Badhri Varanasi , Shivanshu Upadhyay
Nestled on the coast of Pacifica, Mori Point is 110 acres of coastal shrub, grassland and riparian plant communities that many endangered animals call home. Quarrying and off-road vehicle use have left this site heavily scarred, threatening the livelihood of the local animals and plant species. Help the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy transform this habitat into one where both animals and humans can co-exist and enjoy. Volunteers will help remove invasive plants and improve trails all while taking in the breath-taking view. After the project, all volunteers are invited to attend a guided trail walk. Friends and family are welcome and there is no age minimum to participate. To learn more about the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, visit http://www.parksconservancy.org. To learn more about Mori Point, visit http://www.parksconservancy.org/ourwork/communityprograms/sitestewardship/sitestewardship.php or http://www.parksconservancy.org/ourwork/communityprograms/sitestewardship/moripoint.php.
