About Me : I am a self-taught artist and native Fort Worth ,Texan born in 1976 to a lower class single mother and working class . My dichotomous, artistic nature formed early at age six, drawing cartoons underneath tables in my Granny's kitchen. Shy and reclusive, I spent most of my time alone while my family relocated more than 15 times before my tenth birthday. As a result, I attended school infrequently and wound up leaving home early to fend for myself. Much of my adolescence was spent alone in my room, teaching myself to read, melting crayons, and entertaining myself. At a time when most kids my age were in Junior High School, I worked as a waitress in a mexican food restrant, and was a bar maid for a local pub, in order to support myself and my new baby boy. In my early 20's I began to establish myself as an , artist and writer. I formed a clientele by distributing my own poetry and hand-made drawings, as well as my paintings. While building my reputation as an atrist through traviling and small community networking, writing and recording my work on the Internet for nearly 5 years , I set aside art professionally in order to concentrate more privately on my graphic arts . I have since become a prolific and dedicated visual artist. Now residing in the DFW, TX area, I have come to express myself wholly in my art after surviving childhood abuse, neglect, rape and poverty. I use my experience as the fuel for subject matter, transforming a broken past into a positive and hopeful present and future.
