I'm also torn because, obviously, I think postdocs are generally underappreciated, frequently exploited, and oh yeah, underpaid. But I think that if we artifically drive up the salary for postdocs, we could in the best case scenario do away with postdocs altogether (put ourselves out of business) or in the worst case scenario, eventually cause the collapse of research science as we know it.
