Summary: I like to "give a little" back, even though I'm still paying off debt. I work in a company with a lot of in-house fundraisers which I've given into in the past but I decided that in 2007 I would give thoughtfully to exactly what causes I like. Here's my collection of ideas.Link: Change.org
Summary: Social network for people interested in giving.

Summary: No minimum donation, you can pay with paypal and you get to "see your contribution" on their slick interface. I love this concept and 100% goes to four well-known and respected charities to support the people of Darfur.
Dreamhost Charity Policy
Every few months, DreamHost will pick a new worthy
charity to which we will facilitate giving! To donate to the charity
all you have to do
is come here and click the button for how much you'd like to give!
That's it, you're done! The charge will go on your next hosting bill,
and we'll handle the rest of the donation (note, donations will not
actually be made until your hosting bill is paid). Best of all, DreamHost will MATCH all donations
given by our customers through this page! How sweet of us! (https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi- you must be logged int to use)

Link: Micro-Loans Online
Summary: Potentially and investment, but most are subsisting off donations at the moment...micro loans help people in poor, rural areas start businesses. Cool Tools does a great review of various orgs online and links to an article about the cons of this method.
Link: Donors Choose
Summary: I learned about this from the Cool Tools blog, where they say:
"At DonorsChoose you can be a philanthropist for ten bucks (or more). Go to the site and choose from among thousands of projects submitted by public school teachers -- everything from books needed to technology to class trips. Once the project's been funded, DonorsChoose buys the materials for the teachers, and you get a package of letters and photographs from the students."
