Who is Roger Stone?"A slash-and-burn Republican black-bag election tamperer and consultant whose mentor was the repulsive Roy Cohn  the redbaiting hatchet man for Senator Joe McCarthy. Stone first made news in the Nixon Watergate scandal, when it was revealed that the 19-year-old apprentice McCarthyite had infiltrated George McGovern's 1972 presidential campaign as part of CREEP. A few other highlights of Stone career as the boastful black prince of Republican sleaze: Stone helped Ollie North raise money for the Nicaraguan contraswas a close associate of the notorious Lee Atwater (the GOP hit man who created the race-baiting Willie Horton TV spots for GHW Bush 1988 presidential campaign)From Jeffrey Toobin Too Close To Call on the 2000 Florida election:   Stone was summoned by Bush recount chief James Baker to disrupt the vote counting  Stone and his Cuban wife, Nydia, organized a screaming mob of Miami Cubans outside the headquarters of the canvassing board and Stone directed the mob by walkie-talkie from across the street. They intimidated the board into ending the count).Served as campaign chairman for 2004 Demo candidate Al SharptonNydia funds Sharpton campaign to insure his name is on the ballot.

A New York

A New York Post article identifies Stone as the individual who passed the forged documents on to Burkett at a Houston livestock show. Stone's wife, a Cuban American, is considered a possible match for the illusive "Lucy Ramirez,' the woman Burkett claims called him about the memos and suggested he turn them over to the Kerry campaign.

A false story

A false story about Presidential candidate Pat Buchanan in the '92 campaign claiming he has fathered an illegitimate child is tracced to Stone, who says "If there was a flyer, it wasn't from Roger Stone."

So why did the media jump on Dan Rather rather than focusing on reports implicating GOP Lee Atwater protege Roger Stone? Nobody seems to remember or care anymore that faking official documents is a felony (wow this smells like Plamegate, doesn't it?) or that offical panelists were not able to determine if the Killian memos were actually fake....And what about the idea that woman, Lucy Ramirez, who contacted Burnettand, like all things Bush, are we forgetting the Rove factor ...
