Execution
On December 12, 2005, Governor Schwarzenegger refused Tookie's plea for clemency on the grounds that he had been lawfully convicted of the murders for which the jury reccomended death, that his reform was questionable based on his prison history, and that the efficacy of his anti-gang work was questionable as street violence still runs rampant. Stanley Tookie Williams was executed by lethal injection on the morning of December 13, 2005, and pronounced dead at 12:35 am.

Charges
In 1981 Tookie was convicted on four accounts first-degree murder and two accounts robbery, comitted in 1979. The evidence against Tookie was staggering, including testimony against him by his accomplices and friends, suggestive ballistics reports, and accidentally self-incriminating confessions of specific information regarding the murders. His alibi witnesses, on the other hand, retracted their testimonies, and his violent plans to break out of prison were also brought to light against him.
