It seems like it would be a good option to allow current Jeteye members to share private jetpaks with non-jeteye members. I'm running into the situation where I created a jetpak that I don't want to share with the public. However, I do want to share it with someone who is not currently a Jeteye member.
I think a better approach would be to allow jetpaks to be sent to anyone. If the the jetpak is private and the recipient is NOT a member, then they would be required to join in order to view the jetpak. This should make it easier for people to share proprietary or confidential info via jetpaks.
I think the process could work as follows:
- Jeteye member sends a jetpak to a non-jeteye member. Jeteye creates a "pending" membership using the email address of the non-jeteye member.
- Non-jeteye member receives an email invite to view a private jetpak. The invite has a url link that marks the incoming visitor to JetEye as a non-jeteye member with a "pending" membership and one or more private jetpaks waiting to be viewed.
- When the non-jeteye member clicks on the url, they are brought to a page that says they need to become a member in order to view this private jetpak.
- The user can create a new ID or use their email address as their ID. After the membership is created, Jeteye can change the membership from "pending" to permanent (or whatever the status should be).
- The new memberr is brought to the private jetpak referenced by the email invite.
- If the new member was previously the recipient of other private jetpaks then those would be placed in their inbox.
